New In. Sneakers Are The New Heels

Ralph Lauren Denim\ Classic Neo Sneakers by Adidas

You know a trend has officially arrived when Karl Lagerfeld is willing to turn the whole world of Chanel upside down, just to include it in his latest collection (Embellished sneakers with Chanel couture? Yes please!). After several seasons of style bloggers donning their favorite sneakers with everything from suits to denim and dresses, designers have finally taken note and started thinking of this casual footwear as a viable staple in their collections. Michael Kors, for the first time ever, designed leather sneakers  for his pre-fall 2014 collection and Pheobe Philo popularized the shoes with the plaid pair the she created for Céline.

Now, I know that the  slip-on sneakers that come in a various range of colors and textures are the must-have shoe of the moment. However,  I am currently enamored with the tie-up versions of these casual kicks. From the classic Nike and Adidas’ models, to the new “it” tennis shoes that Lagerfeld designed for Chanel,  I truly believe that the tie-up sneaker will be the next step in this current footwear obsession.

  1. This post is so on point. I actually have requested new black adidas for Valentine’s day instead of the regular flowers & candy ect… I know I’ll be wearing them a lot this season. More than the flowers. 😉
