My Musings. Onward + Upward

I think we all come to a point in our life where a bit of reflection is much needed. Sometimes, I find myself so caught up in the hustle and bustle of work and social obligations that I don’t take time to stop and appreciate what all this hard work is actually for. Last week, my first five page editorial shoot as a photographer was published in a local publication that I helped launch by serving as the fashion expert on the team.

Now, although I have been part of writing, styling and directing shoots thanks to opportunities that have come about because of this blog, seeing a fashion editorial that I shot in print is by far my proudest moment. And this new-found pride has definitely brought me full circle and made me think about why I started this blog in the first place- as a creative outlet that has afforded me so many amazing opportunities. To say that I feel blessed to have such a wonderful support system behind me would be a total understatement. I mean, if it wasn’t for you readers, I would not have this blog, and if it wasn’t for an amazing editor (someone I consider to be a friend), I would not have had the chance to take on such a task.

I know I still have a lot of learning to do, and I just invested in a new camera and lens that I can’t wait to start playing with and learning about. However, I am seriously ready for some change!

You know what they say, right? Well, you have to keep moving onward and upward in life. But most importantly, you have to stop along the way to thank those who have lifted, pushed and even pulled while you reach new heights and accomplish new goals.  So this is my thanks to you, my dear style mavens. Thanks for all the support. Things are only going to get better from here.

    1. Thanks!! I am still learning, but can’t wait to shoot more and continue getting better. I will also have to learn how my new camera works… Uhhh. That will be the biggest/hardest thing.
