My Style. Forecastle Festival Fashion

When it comes to summer, there are two things that are guaranteed here in Louisville: the slightly suffocating humidity, and Forecastle musical festival. And just like any other music festivals of its kind, many of the attendees use the weekend as an opportunity to express themselves with their unique style choices.

From frayed denim shorts, to cropped tops and even bathing suits paired with interesting sailor hats, festival attire is always a little eccentric and slightly over-the-top, and even used as an outlet for style mavens to wear something that may just be a little out of their current comfort zone. This weekend, I let my love of minimalism take a backseat to that bohemian side that I always knew was there deep down, and donned a print that would normally make me slightly antsy to even look at, much less wear. However, the structured neckline and open back detail paired with the whimsical print on this frock drew me in and had me hooked on the idea that my Forecastle experience would simply not be the same without it.

This look, along with a hand-crafted flower crown that I found at Revelry Boutique Gallery, accompanied me as I swayed to the musical offerings of artist such as the Alabama Shakes, Sylvan Esso (yes, she is even more amazing to see in person), and DJ Glitter Titz.

To see the rest of my festival style, and some other picture-worthy looks that were snapped from the weekend, head over to The Kentucky Gent.
